Freya (Under Evaluation)

FREYA, spayed, 2 years old Brindle female.

Freya came from and home with several children and was just too much for the family to put in the time needed for training and socialization. They contacted MRF. With any young dog, MRF is very firm on finding a foster or adopter that will commit to the time needed for training and socialization. We see too many that are failed by humans. Jennifer and Sean have been with this rescue for many years, sometimes taking the hardest on and turning them into the best canine companions. They stepped up..

This is Sean’s update: 10/2026

I wanted to let you know that Freya has been traveling out of state with me, as well as to work with me every day for just over a month now and is making good progress with putting on some weight, as well as learning. I know that she had little to no training when we got her and is a very high energy girl. She follows me everywhere I go and is doing great walking on a leash, although we are still working on her excitement when she sees some other dogs, or ducks, but improves every day just on command.

We walk around 13 acres of a lake every day when we get off work, and she loves to play even at work she has her babies and toys that she will run through the office with inviting anyone that wants to play to play with her.

She has a great appetite and has 3 meals a day consisting of

• (1) baked chicken breast,

• 1/2lb of browned beef

• (1) can of sardines in water, or ½ can of chub mackerel

• ½ cup of rice

• ½ of a large or whole small sweet potato

• 2 tablespoons of yogurt

• 10-15 fresh blueberries

I’m blessed to have her, and she seems to be very happy herself.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to care for this sweet girl.

If you are interested in 1 of our younger dogs.. please realize the you must be committed to training and socialization.
