WHEN SHE WAS EVALUATED: We met Trinket today, a petite female blonde mastiff. She was outside when we got there. She came in with a bark, ran right up to us and demanded scratches. She went to both of us, leaning into us and sitting on our laps. She gave us lots of kisses.
She currently lives with a lab. She has met dogs before and has not shown any signs of aggression. She and the lab are each fed in their crates. She eats 3.5 cups once per day. She enjoys all treats. Sometimes she gets frozen carrots or whole cabbage to chomp on.
She enjoys going on over a mile walks and playing in the backyard. She does not mind having her nails trimmed or her ears cleaned.
She allowed us to take her for a short walk as well as remove her collar and leash. We gave treats to both dogs while they were sitting next to each other and there were no signs of aggression. She took treats gently from my hand.
She was very sweet the entire time we were there. I think she would do well with another dog and older children that can respect her boundaries.

She is kennel and house trained, she knows sit, stay, "with me", leave it, wait, spin, "out of the kitchen", place (raised platform bed or scale at vet), and bed (soft dog bed) and our favorite command "be cute" (where we tell her to "be cute" and then she gets a treat-o for just existing).
ON APRIL 23,2026 MRF's Fosters picked up Trinket: She has been with them for two months now and here is an update..

SUMMARY:
Trinkie is probably the most affectionate girl I’ve ever known. She LOOOOVES human touch and to be close to you and pet by you and, her personal favorite, pedicures…left, then right, then left again. This could go on for days. 😊
Trinkie is very well trained. She knows basic commands, sit, down, stay, come, as well as commands like spin, place, wait, and the most helpful, “kennel up” where she goes immediately into her crate. She walks perfectly on a leash. At times she is unsure of other dogs, and I can’t determine when or why this arises. As a result, she barks and at times will be up on her hind legs. That said, we actually encountered a neighbor dog come barreling out of their home off leash and up to Trinkie and she did nothing - just sniffed it and let it sniff her and moved right along. She’s definitely getting more relaxed with time.
Trinkie is dog friendly, people friendly, PERFECT at the vet, PERFECT at the groomer, however is known to be scared of her own shadow – a common Mastiff trait I’m told. She is skittish at times as a result but I’m confident that with time she will completely settle in.
And those eyes, if you look up the definition of “puppy dog eyes” in the dictionary, you, I’m sure, will find a picture of Trinkie. Oh, my goodness, that face. ❤️
The best way for me to describe Trinket is easy. She is so, so, so easy. And sweet. Gosh, this girl is so sweet. Don’t let her big bark fool you.
