BODIE
UNDER - EVALUATION
Bodie is a brindle male soon to be neutered. Born 11/23/2023, very young
and has had little socialization or training. He has shown no aggression.
His foster writes:
“Bodie is a very good boy for the most part. He came to us a bit malnourished and not
knowing a whole lot. He is doing well in his training and still has work to do on the leash.
He's trying to be respectful and let me go first but it's very hard for him and he's not
always successful at it. He's best friends with my shepherd and they play on and o all
day long. He loves his toys he keeps them in his bed. He's very smart he knows he's not
supposed to take my slipper, and he tries very hard not to but sometimes... He follows
me everywhere and sits and watches out the window when I feed the horses each
morning. He Is house broken and goes out free when he needs to do his business. He
doesn't run at the horses anymore and is a bit curious about them when they come up
to the fence. He's still very afraid of humans and machinery and will run with his tail
between his legs and hide when someone new comes along. Once he sees them petting
my shepherd and her enjoying it He will come out and meet them but cautiously. He
loves his food he would eat all day long if he could. He starts pacing about 10 minutes
before it's time to put his food into soak and then he paces the whole time it's soaking.
He's very good and walks next to me when I put his food bowl down. He eats quickly
and swears he's starving to death when he's done. Bodie is great with kids I had a friend
come and stay almost a week and she brought teenager a 10-year-old and a year and a
half old with her. He loved them. He let the baby hang on him and give him kisses and
he enjoyed every minute of it. He is less afraid of women than of men. I'm sure he will
come out of this though. When my neighbor came over to mow one of my big pastures
the other day with his big tractor Bodie was gone in a dash. As I stood out there, he
slowly but surely came and stood with me and watched the tractor mow the grass and
the next day the neighbor came over in the golf cart and he slowly but surely met him
and then wanted to hang out with him in the barn bathroom while he was trying to x
the toilet. He is very curious. He wants to know what you're doing all the time. Bodie is a
very special boy and wants to love and be loved.”
Bodie will need patience, socialization, and training. He is a wonderful mastiff that had
a rough beginning and now needs a stable and loving future.
