I came to Mastiff Rescue of Florida (MRF) after being used as a breeder. I am just under 2 years old and up to date on all vaccines. Unfortunately I am not spayed yet as I came into heat... So we must wait a couple of months… Which will be in Sept.
Trying new things is very scary for me to do but I always eventually do with patience and loving coaxing (and treats…I LOVE treats!). I love other dogs as long as they will let me get close to them (even to smell their face) to make sure they are going to be good friends.
I want to let you know though, if they growl at me, I get really scared and defensive and instinctively will defend myself. Slow introductions and Patience... is a necessity.
I absolutely LOVE hugs, pets and playing with my humans! My foster mom says I am such a good girl because I don’t go potty in her house once I know outside is safe wherever I am at! I am not real keen on little dogs or cats.
Toys, I love them...but no ropes or cloth.. I will eat them.
Oh one last thing…my foster mom’s 10 yr old niece came to visit and I did really good with her once she learned to not jump around and be loud and let ME come up to her . Once I knew she was a “good” human, I begged her for hugs, pets and to get on her lap. No toddlers... They may be too scary due to my need to take things slow and quiet. I’m slower to trust. But boy once I know I can trust you, watch out because I will become your Velcro companion.
Gypsy, needs Patience, training, socialization. She is a young dog and she has paid her dues producing litters... now it is up to "US HUMANS" to show her a real life
