Delilah is ready for her forever home! She is a bit over a year old, very smart and after overcoming her initial fearfulness greets new people with enthusiasm. She is still a bit fearful of other dogs so introductions need to be slow. She is curious about cats but will chase so cats in the home are not recommended.
She now responds well to positive reinforcement and treats for good behavior. She uses the dog door and has never had an accident in the house. She knows the commands: sit, down, crate, and outside.
We are still working on off. She loves to stand up on you, windowsills, counters or whatever she can get her front paws on. It is not recommended she be adopted by a family with small children.
She is a professional counter surfer! She is very good on leash and doesn't pull. She's friendly to new people and absolutely lives for attention but watch out for that jumping! Her DNA was analyzed by EmbarkDelilah

and I fully expected her to be part Kangaroo, but nope! She loves to cuddle and wants to be as close to you as possible at all times. She has no known allergies or health problems. She is a Goofball Velcro Mastiff.
Delilah will need training and Mastiff Rescue of Florida requires that all these young dogs complete a Canine Good Citizen training course with their adopter. It takes time and patience to make that socialized great companion that you all want. We see far too many with no training and there is no excuse. If you want a new family member it takes a commitment of patience, love, dedication and training for the rest of that dogs life.
