Delilah ready for a home

Meet Delilah! She was born on 08/21/2021, stands about 25 inches at the shoulder and now weighs about 110 pounds. She is a healthy girl who has been spayed and is up to date with vaccines and heartworm prevention. According to Embark she is 51.8% English Mastiff, 19.5% American Pit Bull, 12.2% Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff)10.6% Great Dane, and 6.1% Presa Canario (Spanish Mastiff). Her temperament is more like her Italian, American and Spanish cousins than the English side of the family. She loves to be cuddled and petted, but she has a very high prey drive and can not be trusted around small animals or birds, think cats and chickens!

She would be best suited to a family with adults and teens, no small children. She is a fast learner but can be very stubborn. She knows off, sit, down, crate, outside and come but if she is focused on something else may not reliably respond to commands. Further obedience training will be a must for her. She is good meeting new people, a bit shy at first and has not shown aggression toward other dogs. An adopter who is experienced with guardian breeds is preferred.

MRF requires that all dogs under 3 years go with their owners to outside training classes for socialization and obedience. These are young dogs and training is an absolute must to form a successful relationship.
